Dr. Charles Bush-Joseph Among Chicago Magazine's “Top Doctors”

Local sports medicine physician recognized by peers

Dr. Charles Bush-Joseph of Hinsdale, a sports medicine surgeon with Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, was named one of the Chicago area’s “Top Doctors” in the January 2018 issue of Chicago Magazine. Compiled by Castle Connelly Medical, Ltd., the "Top Doctors" list includes Chicago area specialists and primary care physicians who were selected by their peers.

Long involved in the care of high school, collegiate and recreational athletes, Dr. Bush-Joseph is a team physician for the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Bulls. Thru his experience with high profile professional athletes, Dr. Bush-Joseph was elected to the Major League Baseball Medical Advisory Board and president of the Major League Baseball Team Physician Association for 2012. This exclusive group of team physicians advises the Major League Baseball Commissioner on medical policy and emerging trends in training and the medical care of the elite athlete.

In addition to maintaining a busy clinical practice performing more than 400 surgeries annually, Dr. Bush-Joseph is a respected educator of medical students, residents, fellows and practicing orthopedic surgeons. He is a professor at Rush University Medical Center and the Associate Director of the Rush Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship Program. Dr. Bush-Joseph is president of the American Orthopaedic Society Sports Medicine and holds committee responsibilities with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He lectures at numerous national educational meetings and serves on the editorial board of several national orthopedic journals (including the prestigious American Journal of Sports Medicine).
