
Dr. Charles Bush-Joseph, a surgeon and sports medicine physician with Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush, recently received the “Special Recognition Award” from the Illinois Athletic Trainers Association (IATA) during the annual State Meeting and Clinical Symposium in Springfield, Illinois.
The award is presented to one person each year who has made significant contributions to the athletic training/sports medicine profession and has a track record for providing quality service to athletes in Illinois.
For more than 30 years, Dr. Bush-Joseph has been involved in the care of high school, collegiate and recreational athletes as a physician partner at Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush. He is also a Professor at Rush University Medical Center and the Associate Director of the Rush Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship Program. He serves as the Head Team Physician for the Chicago White Sox and is an Associate Team Physician for the Chicago Bulls. Thru his experience with high profile professional athletes, Dr. Bush-Joseph is a member of the Major League Baseball Medical Advisory Board and was President of the Major League Baseball Team Physician Association in 2012.
