Drugs In Purse, DUI Crash: Hinsdale Cops

Suspected narcotics were found in a purse in a local neighborhood, police say.

HINSDALE, IL — Hinsdale police released their latest blotter Wednesday. Here is information from the reports:

  • A purse containing baggies with a white powdery substance was found about 6 p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of Chestnut Street. Charges are pending a lab analysis.
  • Marianne Palumbo, 61, of Schiller Park, was arrested about 11 p.m. June 21 at Garfield and Ayres avenues on charges of DUI, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. According to a police report, Palumbo struck a car and drove away. She refused testing to determine her blood-alcohol content. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • A man stole two cartons of cigarettes valued at $190 about 3 p.m. Friday at the BP gas station, 149 E. Ogden Ave. He took the cigarettes from the counter when the clerk's back was turned and drove away in a gold Toyota Camry. The man was described as black, having a slim build, and wearing a red baseball camp, a white T-shirt and gray pants. The case is pending.
  • Eggs were thrown at a car parked in a driveway about 10:30 p.m. Monday in the 700 block of South Grant Street. The suspect was in a dark SUV.
