DUI, Open Fire, Sign Thefts: Hinsdale Police

DUI suspect was going the wrong way on Ogden Avenue, report says.

HINSDALE, IL — In recent days, Hinsdale police handled cases involving DUI, an open fire and political sign thefts, among other things. Here is information from the reports:

DUI

  • A person suspected of being under the influence of drugs was stopped about 3 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of West Ogden Avenue. The suspect was seen traveling east in Ogden's westbound lanes. The suspect submitted a urine sample. Charges are pending the lab results.

  • Harrison C. Weber, 18, of Hinsdale, was cited Oct. 14 on a charge of an open fire, a violation of a village ordinance. He was accused of lighting a metal can on fire near a dumpster in the 700 block of North York Road. He was given a date to appear in court.

Damage

  • A street sign marker from Eighth and Oak streets was found damaged shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday at Woodland Avenue and County Line Road. The street sign was bent with fresh dirt on the base.

Theft

  • Items valued at $840 went missing after a moving service packed and removed a victim's possessions between May 1 and Oct 14 in the 5600 block of South Oak Street. Stolen were a vehicle cargo cover, headphones and various household items.

Political signs

  • Two political signs were stolen between 8 p.m. Oct. 13 and 10 a.m. Oct. 14 in the 500 block of South Garfield Avenue. The police blotter did not identify the message on any of the signs stolen in the last week.
  • A political sign was stolen between 10 a.m. Oct. 13 and 11:30 a.m. Oct. 14 in the 100 block of North Lincoln Street.
  • A political sign was stolen between 6 p.m. Oct. 13 and 11:30 a.m. Oct. 14 in the 100 block of North Lincoln Street.
  • A political sign was stolen between 4 p.m. Oct. 13 and 10 a.m. Oct. 14 in the 800 block of South Madison Street.
  • A political sign was stolen between 10:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. Oct. 11 in the 500 block of North Clay Street.
