DUIs, Drugs On Train: Hinsdale Police

Police respond to domestic dispute on train, then find drugs, report says.

HINSDALE, IL — The Hinsdale Police Department released its latest blotter. Here is information from the reports:

Arrests

  • Mark R. Simnick, 60, of Downers Grove, was arrested about 9 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of East Ogden Avenue on charges of DUI and improper lane use. Simnick submitted to testing that indicated he was over the legal limit. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Ramon Roman, 46, of Chicago, was arrested shortly before noon Monday in the 700 block of North York Road on a charge of driving with a suspended license. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

Hit-and-run

  • A hit-and-run accident happened between noon and 6 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Hinsdale hospital parking garage, 120 N. Oak St. A parked car was struck.
  • A parked car in the lot at Hinsdale Eye Center, 126 W. First St., was struck in a hit-and-run accident between 11 a.m. and noon Sept. 11. The victim reported the transfer of white paint on the rear of the car. The report was made Sept. 20.

Damage

  • Someone damaged the rear window of a car while it was parked in the street the afternoon of Sept. 26 at Minneola Street and Garfield Avenue.
  • Eggs were thrown at a house between 4 p.m. Sept. 21 and 9 a.m. Sept. 22 in the 200 block of North Clay Street.

Charges pending

  • A driver was stopped for failing to signal when required and improper lane use about 11 p.m. Sept. 23 at Route 83 and 55th Street. The driver was then suspected to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver submitted a blood and urine sample. Charges are pending the results of the lab report.

Drugs

  • Police were called to a domestic battery report that occurred on a Metra commuter train about 9 p.m. Saturday. Officers found the suspect, an Aurora man, at the Hinsdale Train Depot. He was in possession of drug paraphernalia and plastic baggies containing a white powdery substance that field-tested positive for amphetamines. He was taken to the hospital for an evaluation. Charges are pending the suspect's release from the hospital.
