DUIs, Theft, Damage: Hinsdale Cops

Local officers arrested several people on DUI charges in the last few days.

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale police released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the reports:

DUI

  • Joanne Weitzel, 49, of Oak Lawn, was arrested about 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the 300 block of East Ogden Avenue on charges of DUI and driving a car in an unsafe condition. She was driving on three tires and an exposed rim. She refused testing to determine her blood-alcohol content. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Martin A. Whitley, 36, of Chicago, was arrested about 2 a.m. Sunday at the Hinsdale Oasis on Interstate 294 on charges of DUI, resisting a police officer, possession of marijuana by a driver, improper turn, improper lane usage and possession of open alcohol by a driver. He submitted to testing that indicated he was over the legal limit. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Brian Martinez, 29, of Lisle, was arrested about 10:30 p.m. Monday in the 300 block of West 55th Street on charges of DUI, speeding and unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver. He refused testing to determine his blood-alcohol content. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Ricardo Alonso, 37, of Stone Park, was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of East Ogden Avenue on charges of DUI and driving on the wrong side of the road. He refused testing to determine his blood-alcohol content. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

Theft

  • Catalytic converters were stolen from three vehicles March 12 at Hinsdale Management Koplin Co., 15 Spinning Wheel Road. A transmission line was damaged on one of the vehicles.
  • A bicycle valued at $200 was stolen between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. Thursday at the Highland train station. The owner said he locked the bike, with someone later cutting the chain.

Damage

  • A car was scratched while it was parked in the parking lot at 40 S. Clay St. It happened between 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. March 15.

  • Tashawn Wilson, 32, of Chicago, was cited about 1:30 a.m. Saturday at 55th and Quincy streets on charges of no valid driver's license and improper lane use. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
