Elmhurst Man Charged In Hinsdale DUI Crash: Cops

Resident left the site of the accident after crashing into a barricade, police said.

HINSDALE, IL — An Elmhurst man was arrested on a DUI charge after a crash in Hinsdale last week, police said.

About 5:30 p.m. Friday, Hinsdale police were called to a crash at The Lane and York Road, according to a police report. A car struck a wooden barricade, and the driver left, police said.

Officers found the driver, identified as 63-year-old Richard C. Bogdanowicz, at Ninth and Garfield streets.

Bogdanowicz was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol, but he refused testing to determine his blood-alcohol content, the report said.

Bogdanowicz was also charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident, police said.

He was released and given a date to appear in court.
