Singer and guitarist Robert Olivera will perform at a September birthday party for residents and friends at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, at The Birches Assisted Living, 215 55th St., Clarendon Hills.
Olivera will perform nostalgic standards, show tunes, ballads, jazz and folk songs for residents. Olivera always saves about 20 minutes at the end of his performance for requests.
“I was brought up loving this kind of music,” said Olivera. “My sentiments are very similar to the residents’. A lot of their memories are based on these songs, and I like to help them remember happy times.”
