HINSDALE, IL – Salt Creek Club is proposing to add two paddle tennis courts and a viewing patio.

Its plan has received the approval of the village's Plan Commission. The Village Board looked at the proposal at its meeting this week.

At a Plan Commission meeting, two of the club's neighbors expressed concerns about light spillover from the existing paddle tennis courts.

They also said the club had issues with parking during large events and property maintenance.

At Tuesday's Village Board meeting, Trustee Luke Stifflear acknowledged the club has not "fully mitigated" the issues to the neighbors' satisfaction.

But the club has now promised light shields on the existing and new courts to prevent light spillover, which Stifflear called a "good win."

He also said the club indicated lights would go out at 10:30 p.m.

Village President Tom Cauley said he liked the proposal.

"It looks fine to us at this point," he said.

The Village Board is set to vote on the proposal later this month.
