Criminal Trespass To Vehicle

A victim in the 700 block of Harding Road reported that an unknown suspect entered his vehicle while it was parked in the driveway between July 31 at 4 p.m. and Aug. 1 at 10 a.m. Nothing was reported missing from the vehicle.

Hit And Run

A victim reported he was involved in a property damage crash with another vehicle at Route 83 and 55th Street at 8:40 a.m. on Aug. 7 and the other driver did not stop. The victim described the vehicle as a black Toyota Corolla driven by a white female in her 70's with gray hair and glasses.

Extortion

A company server at TNR Properties, 15 Salt Creek Lane was infected with ransomware and an unknown suspect demanded $2,333 in Bitcoin to allow the victim to access server files between July 20 and Aug. 9.

Driving While License Suspended

Luom Nguyen V, 37, of Chicago was charged with driving while license suspended in the 5900 block of South Madison Street at 6:15 a.m. on Aug. 11. Police were dispatched to a report of a subject sleeping against a fence. Police located suspect in the 5900 block of S Madison St. Suspect’s vehicle was parked on private property and had two flat tires and rim damage. Suspect had active arrest warrants for failing to appear for unrelated cases.

Theft

Street signs valued at $100 were stolen from the posts at the intersections of 6th and Stough streets and 6th and Bodin streets sometime between 6 p.m. on Aug. 12 and 8 a.m. on Aug. 13.

Burglary To Vehicle

An unknown suspect at KLM Park, 5901 S. County Line Road smashed the window of a victim's parked car and stole her purse containing a wallet, credit cards, check book and loose change sometime between 6:45 a.m. and 7:28 a.m. on Aug. 13. No fraudulent charges were reported at the time of the report.
