The Clarendon Hills Park District's Annual Fall Family Festival returns to Prospect Park between 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17. This annual event will feature face painting, a petting zoo, inflatables, family games and activities, a pumpkin roll and a pumpkin sculptor, food vendors, and booths sponsored by numerous local organizations. All activities at the Fall Family Festival are free of charge. Prospect Park is a 23-acre community park located between Chicago, Norfolk, Prospect and Oxford Avenues. Visitors to this event will also be able to view Jurassic Jimmy, the new life-sized dinosaur sculpture installed near the Prospect Park Pond earlier this summer. This sculpture was brought to the Clarendon Hills Park District by the newly-formed Clarendon Hills Park Foundation and its Art in Our Parks Program. The foundation board worked closely with the Clarendon Hills Park District Board of Commissioners to complete this project, and the dinosaur's name was selected by local children.
