Few Hurdles For Thief In Hinsdale
Jaguar was stolen from a garage and later recovered in Harvey, police said.
HINSDALE, IL — A suspect's path to stealing a car over the weekend in Hinsdale was apparently easy. Police reported that a 2018 Jaguar F-Pace in the 800 block of South Lincoln Street was stolen between 11:15 p.m. Feb. 8 and 4 a.m. Feb. 9. It was stolen from the victim's garage, where the door was left open, police said. The key was inside the car, along with the victim's purse and about $150 to $200 in cash, according to a police report. The Jaguar was later recovered in Harvey.

- Jaylin J. Reese, 22, of Homewood, was arrested shortly before 9 a.m. Feb. 5 at 55th Street and Interstate 294 on charges driving with a suspended license and speeding. She was released to appear in court.
- A suspect came into Hinsdale Advanced Eye Care, 133 E. Ogden Ave., on Jan. 22 and purchased a $376 pair of glasses using a bad check. A second suspect came into the store on Jan. 25 and tried to purchase three pairs of glasses using a check. An employee declined the transaction, and it was later determined the driver's license the suspect presented was fraudulent. The incidents were reported Feb. 5.
- A residential burglary occurred between 6:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Feb. 6 in the 600 block of North Grant Street. A suspect entered the house and stole a laptop valued at $650, earrings valued at $100 and a keepsake box containing a variety of documents. The victim was not home during the time of the burglary. There were no signs of forced entry. A side door of the house was left unlocked during the day.
- Amy E. Colomb, 53, who was identified as homeless, was arrested about 12:30 p.m. Feb. 5 on charges of criminal trespass and disorderly conduct. She was served a no-trespass order on April 22, 2019, at Hinsdale News Agency, 24 E. Hinsdale Ave. On Feb. 5 at the same business, she urinated and left toilet paper at the back receiving door of the business. She was released to appear in court.
- Alina Irshad Khan, 19, of Des Plaines, was arrested shortly before 2 a.m. Feb. 8 at Ogden Avenue and Interstate 294 on charges of driving with a suspended license and speeding. She was released to appear in court.
- Jennifer M. Gabreleski, 36, of North Riverside, was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Feb. 9 at Madison and 55th streets on charges of DUI, improper lighting, driving on the wrong side of the road and operating an uninsured vehicle. Testing indicated her blood-alcohol level was over the legal limit. She was released to appear court.
- An unlocked car in the 400 block of South Park Avenue was burglarized between 11:30 p.m. Feb. 8 and 6:15 a.m. Feb. 9. A suspect entered the car while it was parked in the driveway and rummaged through the interior. The victim reported $20 missing from the car.
