Fireworks Dropped In School Skylight: Hinsdale Cops
Police and firefighters respond to alarm late in the night, report says.

HINSDALE, IL — Hinsdale police released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is the information from the reports:
Fire alarm
- The police and fire departments were dispatched to a fire alarm at Oak Elementary School, 950 S. Oak St., about 10:30 p.m. Saturday. Firefighters discovered a broken skylight. Fireworks were dropped inside the school. The case is pending.
Car burglary

- An unlocked car was burglarized between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. July 13 in the 10 block of Grant Square. A speaker valued at $60 was stolen. The case is pending.
Identify theft
- A resident in the 400 block of West Walnut Street told police that someone used the resident's identity to open a cable account and charged $621 in services. The crime occurred between June 1 to March 1.
- A suspect took control of the social media account of a resident in the 5500 block of South Oak Street on Monday. The suspect instructed the victim to send him $50.

- Police received a report of an intoxicated driver about 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the 400 block of East Ogden Avenue. The suspect submitted a urine sample and was released. The charges are pending the results of a lab report.
- Police were dispatched to a well-being check of a possible intoxicated person about 10 a.m. Monday in the 500 block of Chestnut Street. The person was stopped for an expired registration and was believed to be under the influence. The person submitted a blood and urine sample and was released. The charges are pending the results of a lab report.
Criminal trespassing
- Roderick J. McGinnis, 48, of Milwaukee, was cited about 11 p.m. Saturday at Shell Food Mart, 210 E. Ogden Ave., on charges of criminal trespass to a vehicle and driving with a revoked license. A car registration inquiry revealed the car was stolen in Milwaukee. McGinnis was released and given a date to appear in court.
