Forger Targets Closed Hinsdale Restaurant: Police

Forged business check was for $2,400, but suspect is unsuccessful, report says.

HINSDALE, IL — Harry & Eddie's Restaurant, which closed after the pandemic began, almost took another hit recently. According to a police report, an unknown suspect forged a check using the restaurant's business checking account information and attempted to deposit it. The check was in the amount of $2,400.

It appears the suspect failed because the police report says, "No dollar loss reported." The crime is reported as happening between July 27 and 29.

It is unclear exactly when Harry & Eddie's closed. The restaurant, 29 E. First St., opened in 2018, featuring American food.
