Group Piano Classes at the Clarendon Hills Park District

Kids Will Hit the High Notes with Miss Gretchen

Children of all ages will find themselves "hitting the high notes" with two popular group piano classes for kids at the Clarendon Hills Park District. Gretchen Wells-Malitz, a preschool instructor with the Clarendon Hills Park District and well known local musician, will teach both of these programs on Wednesday afternoons. "Group Piano for Little Hands" is designed for boys and girls ages 5-7 years of age and meets from 3:15 p.m.-4:15 p.m., January 31-March 21 at the Community Center. This is a first time piano class which offers simple lessons on fundamentals, rhythm, notation, and beginner songs. At the conclusion of the 8-week class, children will have a binder full of materials to take home. This program has a $150.00 resident fee ($188.00 non-residents.) Older children ages 7-11 are encouraged to register for Group Piano for Kids, which will meet from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoons at the Community Center, January 31-March 21. The $157.00 resident tuition fee ($195.00 non-residents) includes a primer lesson book. We will discuss music fundamentals, music theory and proper playing techniques. Each student will prepare a new song for class each week! Learn how to "play" with us at the Clarendon Hills Park District!
