Group Piano Lessons for Kids at the Clarendon Hills Park District!!!
Musical Medley of Classes To Begin on September 20
The Clarendon Hills Park District will "hit the high notes" with two new group piano lesson for children this fall! "Group Piano for Little Hands" is open to boys and girls ages 5-7 years of age and will meet from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Wednesdays, Sept. 20-Nov. 8 at the Community Center, 315 E. Chicago Avenue. This is an introductory program for youngsters with little to no experience with music!! There will be time set aside to discuss rhythm, notation, music symbols and beginner songs! Musical games and group activities will be part of class each week - every child will receive a binder of materials to take home at the end of the 8-week session. This program has a $150.00 resident ($188.00 non-resident) fee. Older children ages 7-11 are invited to register for "Group Piano for Kids" which will meet from 4:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoons at the Community Center, Sept. 20-Nov. 8. This class will focus in on theory and proper playing technique, music fundamentals and a new song each week. The $157.00 resident ($195.00 non-resident) fee includes the Bastien Piano Basics/Primer Level Lesson Book. Both of these classes will be taught by well known music educator, Gretchen Wells-Malitz. Registration remains open at the Clarendon Hills Park District, 315 E. Chicago Avenue.
