Gun Charges, Hit-And-Runs: Hinsdale Cops

Two drivers were found to be in illegal possession of guns, police said.

HINSDALE, IL — Hinsdale police released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the reports:

Gun charges

  • Evony S. Williams, 38, of Schaumburg, was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Saturday at Oak Street and Chicago Avenue on charges of DUI, carrying a concealed firearm while intoxicated, transportation of open alcohol by a driver, operating a vehicle while using a phone, improper lane use, and illegally stopping, standing or parking where prohibited. According to a police report, Williams had a handgun in her purse. She refused testing to determine her blood-alcohol content. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Filemon Avila, 42, of La Grange, was arrested about 9 a.m. Saturday in the 10 block of East Ogden Avenue on charges of aggravated unlawful use of weapon, no firearm owner's identification card, driving with a revoked license and operating an uninsured vehicle. Police said a handgun was immediately accessible to Avila. He was released and taken to the DuPage County Jail.

  • Kimberly A. Fuller, 54, of Aurora, was cited on a charge of failing to give information after striking an unattended vehicle. The victim said his work van was hit while parked in the parking deck at 100 S. Garfield Ave. The incident, which happened about 10 a.m. Wednesday, was captured on surveillance video. Fuller was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • A vehicle in the Hinsdale Humane Society parking lot, 21 Salt Creek Lane, was hit by another car between 12:30 p.m. and 12:45 p.m. Thursday. The case is pending

Threatening messages

  • A resident in the 300 block of South Elm Street told police he received threatening messages between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. Jan. 3 from someone he knows.

Fraudulent checks

  • A suspect attempted to cash two fraudulent checks Jan. 4 from the bank account of Wellness House, 131 N. County Line Road. The case is pending.
