Hindale's New Virus Cases Drop Sharply: Agencies
The number of local coronavirus deaths remained the same in the last week.
HINSDALE, IL — Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills saw sharp drops in new coronavirus cases in the last week, according to county agencies.
As of Sunday, Hinsdale had 1,850 coronavirus cases since the start of the pandemic, up 13 in the last week. The week before last, the village experienced 41 new cases.
Meanwhile, Clarendon Hills reached 988 coronavirus cases, up seven in the last week. The week before last, it recorded 19 new cases.

Hinsdale saw no new coronavirus deaths in the last week, with the total at 61 since the pandemic's beginning, according to county agencies. Clarendon Hills' number of deaths stayed the same in the last week, at 13.

As of Sunday, Hinsdale had 105 coronavirus cases per thousand people since the pandemic's beginning, better than its neighbors. The figure compares to 92 in Darien, 99 in La Grange Park, 104 in DuPage County, 107 in Elmhurst, 112 in Western Springs, 113 in Clarendon Hills, 114 in suburban Cook County, 116 in Burr Ridge and 133 in La Grange (including unincorporated La Grange Highlands).
As of Sunday, Illinois' coronavirus case count increased to 1,630,864, up 1.1 percent from a week earlier, according to the state Department of Public Health. The number of confirmed deaths so far is 25,017.
Nationally, 43.5 million cases of the coronavirus have been reported, up 1.8 percent from the week before, according to the Centers for Disease Control. A total of 698,672 people have died from the virus in the United States.
