Hinsdale Area Chain Restaurant Closing

An official said the village would work with "relevant parties."

CLARENDON HILLS, IL – Starbucks in downtown Clarendon Hills is closing in the late spring, the village announced Friday.

In a memo, Village Administrator Kevin Barr said the village confirmed the planned closing. He said the staff discussed the situation with the Seattle-based chain and the property owner.

"We will continue to work with the relevant parties towards a positive result for this property," Barr said in the memo.

In 2021, Business Insider reported that Starbucks is focusing on restaurants with drive-thrus. The Clarendon Hills location does not have one.

About 75 percent of Starbucks' U.S. sales volume involves drive-thru and mobile orders.
