Hinsdale Central Football Coach Named 'Bears Coach of the Week'
Head coach Dan Hartman is invited to Soldier Field on Dec. 21 for formal recognition.

The Chicago Bears named Dan Hartman the ‘Bears Coach of the Week’ for his first game as head coach of the Hinsdale Central football team.
Hartman’s Red Devils won 23-15 in their Aug 29 game against Boilingbrook. After the game was delayed by lightning, special teams blocked two punts, returned one for a touchdown, and rallied in the second half of the game, according to a Hinsdale Township High School District 86 news release.
“Winning the award is a great honor,” said Hartman said the statement. “It really is a reflection of how hard the boys and staff have worked this summer in preparing for this year. The boys have a lot of potential but we have to stay grounded and take it one week at a time. If the boys can bring the same focus and intensity as they did in the Bolingbrook game, it will be fun season.”
The Bears will make a $1,500 contribution to Hinsdale Central’s football program, and Hartman, with all honorees at the end of the season, is invited to Soldier Field on Dec. 21 to be recognized formally.
One player and one coach will be honored each week of the high school regular season.
