Hinsdale Central's Recent Feats
Speech team, Model UN team, wrestlers and a bowler take home honors.
HINSDALE, IL — The speech team from Hinsdale Central High School qualified for sectionals by winning the regional tournament and taking home seven individual championships last weekend, according to a school district Facebook post.
Here are the other honors that Central students received over the weekend:
- Ten students from Central's Model UN team were recognized for their outstanding performances during the 32nd Model United Nations of the University of Chicago conference. The students included Ammar Hussain and Marcos Lopez (Outstanding Delegates); Zamaan Qureshi, Dayton DiTomasso, Nick Pancione, Nazia Kamal, Aishvarya Godla, Zayn Khan and Noora Hameeduddin (Honorable Mention); and Esha Modi (Verbal Commendation).
- Six wrestlers from Central qualified for sectionals, including Ron Kruse, Chris Robinson, Cody Tavaso, Tim Song, Andrew Perez and Daniel Aviles. Kruse, Robinson and Tavaso also won individual championships during the Regional tournament.
- Melina Harvey qualified for sectionals for girls bowling.
