Hinsdale-Clarendon Hills July 4th Fireworks, Parades: 2018 Guide

Here's your complete guide to Fourth of July fireworks shows, parades and other festive events in and near Hinsdale and Clarendon Hills.

HINSDALE-CLARENDON HILLS, IL — UPDATE: Fireworks at the Hinsdale Golf Club will take place on Friday, July 6. The club is not open to the public, but you can see the display for Prospect Park in Clarendon Hills. The display will begin at 9 p.m.

The 4th of July is quickly approaching, and that means fireworks, parades and other events will be hosted around the area. Neither the village of Hinsdale or the village of Clarendon Hills hosts a fireworks show, but Hinsdale does host an Independence Day Celebration, and Clarendon Hills residents go to the Lions Park Pool for a July 4th Extravaganza.

The Independence Day Celebration begins at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 4 in Hinsdale. A parade will step off at 10 a.m. from Sixth Street and Garfield. The parade then ends at Sixth and Grant Street, and celebrations will continue at Burlington Park.

There will be a craft fair and family entertainment at the park, as well as the Rotary Club turtle races at 11 a.m. At 1 p.m., the West Suburban Concert Band will perform, and the day will wrap up by 4 p.m. According to the village, there will also be inflatables, carnival games and face painting.

Clarendon Hills residents can head out to the Clarendon Hills Park District's July 4th Extravaganza at the Lions Park Pool, 100 Byrd Court. On July 4, from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., there will be games and patriotic contests at the pool.

In Clarendon Hills, residents can enjoy fireworks from Prospect Park at 9 p.m. Hinsdale Golf Club sets off fireworks, and while it is a private club not open to the public, you can still see the fireworks at the park on July 6, according to the village.

Temperatures will remain hot for both July 3 and July 4, so if you're spending time outside, make sure you stay cool. Here's a look at the forecast from the National Weather Service:

  • WEDNESDAY, JULY 4: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 7 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. Heat index values as high as 101. South southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
  • WEDNESDAY NIGHT: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 74. South southwest wind around 5 mph.

  • Darien, Downers Grove and Woodridge are also putting on a fireworks showing at 9:30 p.m. on July 4. You can head out to 75th Street and Lemont Road to see the show.
  • Pleasant Dale Park District in Burr Ridge will also host its annual fireworks show starting at dusk on July 3. The show will be held at Walker Park, 7425 S. Wolf Road.
  • Nearby Lemont will also host a fireworks show, starting at 9:30 p.m. July 3 at Centennial Park. The event features activities for kids, a beer garden, entertainment and a food court.
