Hinsdale And Clarendon Hills See New Lows In Virus Cases

No new coronavirus deaths are reported in either Hinsdale or Clarendon Hills.

HINSDALE, IL — Hinsdale saw the lowest weekly percentage increase in new coronavirus cases since September, while Clarendon Hills' hike was the lowest since the pandemic's beginning, according to numbers from county agencies.

As of Sunday, Hinsdale had 1,284 coronavirus cases since the start of the crisis, up 25 from a week earlier, or a 2 percent hike. The previous week's increase was 4.2 percent.

Meanwhile, Clarendon Hills reached 695 as of Sunday, up six from a week before, or an increase of nine-tenths of 1 percent.

The number of those who have recovered is unavailable.

Hinsdale saw no new coronavirus-related deaths in the last week, totaling 58 since the pandemic's beginning, according to county agencies. Clarendon Hills' number of deaths remained the same at 10. Hinsdale's number is largely driven by a coronavirus outbreak at ManorCare Hinsdale nursing home earlier in the crisis.

The figure compares to 66.6 in Darien, 66.7 in La Grange Park, 68.6 in Western Springs, 75.3 in DuPage County, 76.6 in Elmhurst, 79.4 in Clarendon Hills, 83.5 in suburban Cook County, 87.4 in Burr Ridge and 92.1 in La Grange (including unincorporated La Grange Highlands).
