Hinsdale Clerk Cited With Selling To Minor: Police

Police say they conducted controlled purchase of alcohol.

HINSDALE, IL — A man was cited after police conducted a controlled purchase of alcohol at a Hinsdale store, police said.

Vivek B. Patel, 26, of Des Plaines, was cited about 3:30 p.m. Friday at Hinsdale Food Mart, 5827 S. Madison St., on a charge of unlawful sale of alcohol to a person under 21. Patel was released and given a date to appear in court.

  • Ma Guadalupe Arellano Castaneda, 36, of Naperville, was arrested about 2 a.m. Dec. 9 at Route 83 and 55th Street on charges of DUI, improper lane use, defective windshield and driving too fast for conditions. She refused testing to determine blood-alcohol content. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • A hit-and-run accident took place about 9 a.m. Dec. 9 in the 400 block of South Garfield Avenue. The victim said a suspect hit the trailer of his truck while he was parked in the street. The suspect was described as a white woman with brown hair driving a silver Acura sedan.
  • Alma Y. Arredondo, 45, of Lyons, was arrested about 3:30 p.m. Sunday at County Line Road and 55th Street on charges of driving with a suspended license, suspended registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
