Both Fosco and Mayster are departing as a new superintendent, Chip Pettit, takes the reins.
Since summer 2023, seven people have served in the role of District 86's superintendent, either permanent or interim.
In December 2023, the district's communications director, Chris Jasculca, and his communications coordinator, Alyssa Barry, left amid the turmoil in the months after the school board ousted then-Superintendent Tammy Prentiss.
Jasculca took the same position with Latin School of Chicago.
Meanwhile, Barry became the communications director at Wheaton-based School District 200, where enrollment is three times that of District 86.
