Hinsdale District 86 Board of Education Appoints New Member

Blackburn will serve until the April 2019 election when the voters of District 86 decide who will serve remaining two years of the term.

HINSDALE, IL – The Hinsdale Township High School District 86 Board of Education has announced the appointment of Robert “Bo” Blackburn to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Robin Gonzales. The district said Blackburn will serve until the April 2019 election when the voters of District 86 decide who will serve remaining two years of the term, which ends in April 2021.

According to the district, Blackburn brings to the board a background in business management. He currently oversees the operations and sales of an international commodities trading firm, Tri-Meats Incorporated. In addition to his professional career, Blackburn has volunteered at his children’s schools, Hinsdale Community Preschool and the Avery Coonley School.

“After announcing the vacancy on Sept. 4, the board actively sought applicants during a seven-day period,” said Board President Bill Carpenter. “During a Special Meeting Sept. 24, the board conducted interviews with the candidates to find someone that would represent this district well. While there were many candidates that applied who could have filled this seat, the Board chose Bo. Again, we believe Bo is someone who will serve the community of District 86 very well. We welcome him and know he is ready to jump right in.”

I am committed to working hard to keep District 86 moving forward in the many initiatives already underway. I am honored by this opportunity, and I look forward to collaborating with all of the other board members to accomplish the necessary work to continue the educational excellence at both of our schools and our Transition Center.”

The district said Blackburn received his Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University. He resides in Willowbrook with his wife Tracy and two children.
