District 86 representatives from Hinsdale South and Hinsdale Central share good news from both high schools with the public.

HINSDALE, IL — At each Hinsdale Township High School District 86 school board meeting, representatives from Hinsdale South and Hinsdale Central share good news from both high schools with the public. At the recent meeting on Nov. 20, the board congratulated several teams and honored district educators.
Here is the good news from District 86:
- Hinsdale South Principal Pokorny shared that the Girls’ Tennis Team took fifth at the IHSA State Finals. The team’s efforts resulted in the fifth place finish, which constitutes the second best finish for the Hornets in the last 45 years (the Hornets finished second in 2003).
Hinsdale Central Principal William Walsh and Athletic Director Dan Jones shared the good news from Central.

- The Girls Tennis Team at Central finished in third place at the IHSA State Finals, meaning both District 86 tennis teams finished in the top five at the state level this year.
- The Boys Cross Country Team at Central finished in fourth place at the IHSA State Championship in Peoria. This was the second best finish in the program’s history.
- The Girls Swim Team at Central recognized its All-State athletes.
- Girls Cross Country Team runners Grace McCabe earned second place All-State recognition and McKenna Revord earned first place All-State recognition.
- The Girls Golf Team won third place at the IHSA State Golf Championship. The team proudly presented their IHSA trophy to the Board.
- For the sixth year in the row, the Boys Golf Team won the IHSA State Golf Championship. The team proudly presented their IHSA trophy to the Board.
- Hinsdale Central Art, Science and Social Work Secretary Linda Bronsteader was honored by the Illinois State Board of Education with a “Those Who Excel” award. Department Chairs Laura Milas and Lisa Fernandez provided information about the award and shared their gratitude for Bronsteader’s service.
