Hinsdale Districts Holds Third Community Speaker Session
Thompson will discuss his books and male development from infancy through high school on May 1 and May 2.

HINSDALE, IL – Community Consolidated School District 181 and Hinsdale Township High School District 86 announced that registration is open for the third and final installment of the 2017-18 Community Speaker Series featuring child and family psychologist Dr. Michael G. Thompson who will speak about the “The Nature of Boys.” The district said Thompson will discuss his books and male development from infancy through high school at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 1, and 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2. Both 90-minute sessions will be held at The Community House in Hinsdale.
According to the district, Thompson is a consultant, author and psychologist specializing in children and families. His best-selling book “Raising Cain: Protecting the Emotional Life of Boys,” broke the silence surrounding the emotional life of boys and spearheaded an important national debate. He has also appeared on “The Today Show,” “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” “20/20,”“60 Minutes,” “The Early Show” and “Good Morning America.” He has been a guest on NPR’s “Morning Edition” with Susan Stamberg, “Talk of the Nation” with Ray Suarez and the “Diane Rhem Show.”
The Community Speaker Series is co-sponsored by District 181 and District 86, with the support of the District 181 Foundation and The Community House. Events are free but space is limited so reservations are required.
