Hinsdale Falcons JV Silver Win Super Bowl 2014!

11-8-14: Hinsdale Falcons vs. Elmhurst Eagles – 2014 JV SILVER SUPER BOWL

The Hinsdale Falcons JV Silver football team completed an undefeated 11-0 season with a 13-6 win over the Elmhurst Eagles in the league championship game on Saturday, November 8, 2014. The Falcons took an early 6-0 lead on a 4 yard run by quarterback Jack Kroll on the game’s opening possession. The lead would hold until late in the third quarter when Elmhurst recovered a fumbled snap inside the Falcons’ 5 yard line and punched it in on fourth down to tie the score. But top-seeded Hinsdale was not going to be denied. The Falcons offense promptly marched down the field on the next possession with tailback Drew Novatney finishing what proved to be a championship drive with a 6 yard touchdown run. Kroll tacked on the conversion run to account for the final margin of victory.

Coaches Jim Gibson, Jeff Kroll, Mike Shean, and Chris Meyers challenged this year’s JV Silver squad to be great – and indeed they were! The team will be remembered as determined, hard-working, tough, and talented, combining a dominant offense that outgained opponents by over 1,000 yards and scored 215 points with a stout defense that posted 5 shut-outs and allowed only 42 points. For many on the team, the 2014 JV Silver championship marked their second consecutive undefeated championship season.
