HINSDALE, IL – A Hinsdale family is suing Fuller's Car Wash in a crash that killed their son, 14-year-old Sean Patrick Richards.

On July 17, a 16-year-old Fuller's Car Wash employee struck Richards, who died three days later. The worker ended up crashing into Fontano's Subs, 9 S. Lincoln St., which is across the street.

In the lawsuit, Richards' family claims the incident was the third of its kind at the business, according to an ABC7 report.

"They knew that this could happen, and they took absolutely no reasonable steps to prevent this tragedy from occurring," their attorney, Bradley Cosgrove, said Wednesday, according to ABC7.

In October, prosecutors charged the 16-year-old Fuller's employee with three traffic violations, but not any criminal offenses.
