Hinsdale Fire Department Chooses New Mission Statement
"Be worthy of the trust placed upon us and uphold the privilege of wearing this uniform every day."

HINSDALE, IL — Over the past year, the Hinsdale Fire Department has seen significant changes among its ranks. According to a release from the department, this includes recent retirements followed by new hires and several promotions, such as the promotion of Fire Chief John Giannelli in November 2016. This brought about a new era as well as a new brand of leadership within the department, including a brand new mission statement:
"Be worthy of the trust placed upon us and uphold the privilege of wearing this uniform every day."
According to the release, the new mission statement is a reflection of the pride that members of the Hinsdale Fire Department, both past and present, all share in creating a positive impact within the community, their profession and themselves. The mission every day is not just living up to this standard, but spending a career trying to raise it a little higher.
