Hinsdale Fire Department Launches Citizens Fire Academy
Classes will be held at the Hinsdale Fire Department located at 121 Symonds Drive in Hinsdale, April 12 through May 17.

HINSDALE, IL – The Hinsdale Fire Department announced the launch of its annual Citizens Fire Academy, which will offer an experience to the community on what it takes to be a career firefighter and paramedic in today’s world. The department said the academy will also provide residents with life and fire safety knowledge.
Classes will be held at the Hinsdale Fire Department located at 121 Symonds Drive in Hinsdale, April 12 through May 17. The classes will take place every Thursday night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. According to the department, each night will be packed with a deep history of the fire service, hands-on demonstrations that include vehicle extrications, fire suppression, and basic life-saving skills as well as a behind the scenes look at life in the firehouse.
To enroll in the Hinsdale Fire Department Citizens Fire Academy, you must be at least 18 years old and either live or work in the Village of Hinsdale. You can sign-up in person at the Hinsdale Firehouse, or enroll via email by contacting stullis@villageofhinsdale.org. There is no cost, but the deadline to enroll is March 31.
