Hinsdale High Schools Announce Spring Plays
Hinsdale Central will perform 'She Kills Monsters' and Hinsdale South will perform 'FUN HOUSE' and 'The Father'.

HINSDALE, IL- Hinsdale Central and Hinsdale South high schools have announced their respective spring plays.

According to a release from the school, the Hinsdale Central High School drama club will perform 'She Kills Monsters' as the spring play. The show will be held in the auditorium at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11. Tickets are $10 and free for students with an activity pass.

Hinsdale Central English and drama teacher Erin Lundin is the director. The show features the following students: Chloe Bassett, Reagan Brownell, Declan Casey, Katie Connelly, Jack Franco, Emma Gordon, Ella Heider, Tess Klygis, Juliana Mejia, Jeremy Miller, Allie Moreton, Kaitlyn Phillips, Jack Rasmussen, Sam Rasmussen, Nick Speziale and Izzy Stafford.

Hinsdale South High School's Theater Department will present a group interpretation piece called 'FUN HOME' by Alison Bechdel and a contest play called 'The Father' by Florian Zeller.
According to a release from the school, this combination performance will be held for one night only in the auditorium at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 16. Entrance is free; donations are accepted.
“Both pieces allow for a lot of kids to get involved both on stage and behind the scenes,” said English Department Theater Director and Head Speech Team Coach Danny Yuska in a release. “It should be a great experience for these students.”
The group will compete at the IHSA Sectional Group Interpretation and Contest Play tournament at Reavis High School on March 18. The top two teams in contest play and the top three teams in the group interpretation will qualify to compete at the state tournament the weekend of March 24-25.
Last year’s production, 'Spring’s Awakening', earned a second place in the contest play division at the state tournament.
