Hinsdale To Host First Meeting Opposing The Potential Widening Of I-294
The Village of Hinsdale opposes the potential widening of the interstate.

HINSDALE, IL- The Village of Hinsdale is hosting a public meeting on Thursday, March 9, at 7 p.m. to assemble an Ad Hoc Tollway Advisory Committee to the Village in its efforts to oppose the Illinois Tollway Authority’s potential widening of I-294. The meeting will be held at Hinsdale Middle School, 100 S. Garfield Street.
The Tollway Authority is actively considering plans to widen I-294, which was originally constructed in 1958, and last widened in 1992. According to the village website, the village believes this widening would have a negative impact on properties in Hinsdale.
According to a February letter to residents from Village President Tom Cauley, the Tollway Authority will make a final decision on the widening within the next six months.
