Hinsdale House Burglarized; Jewelry Stolen: Cops

In another case, someone cut a lock to a construction site for a house, police said.

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale police released their latest blotter Tuesday. Here is information from the reports:

Burglary

  • A house in the 700 block of South Elm Street was burglarized between Jan. 8 and Jan. 17. Someone rummaged through the bedrooms and stole jewelry. A safe was missing from a bedroom closet. The resident was not at home during the time of the burglary. The case is pending.

  • A lock to a construction site for a house was cut between 2 p.m. Jan. 16 and 9:30 a.m. Jan. 17 in the 100 block of South Monroe Street. Police found no evidence that someone entered the house under construction.

Counterfeit

  • A person tried to pay for merchandise with a counterfeit $100 bill about 3:30 p.m. Jan. 16 at Walgreens, 15 Grant Square. The case is pending.

DUI

  • A 32-year-old Countryside man was arrested about 10 p.m. Thursday at Ogden Avenue and County Line Road on charges of DUI, speeding and failure to signal when changing lanes. He submitted to testing that indicated he was over the legal limit. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

Fraud

  • A person presented a fraudulent check and a fraudulent identification in attempting a transaction about 3 p.m. Wednesday at Chase Bank, 400 E. Ogden Ave.
