Hinsdale Humane Society Raises $120K During Opening Weekend

Sixteen pets went home during the opening weekend, including three dogs and 13 cats.

HINSDALE, IL — The new Pet Rescue & Resource Center operated by Hinsdale Humane Society enjoyed a successful Grand Opening Weekend on Nov. 3 and 4. The new facility, located at 21 Salt Creek Lane, had more than 400 supporters come out to its fundraiser on Nov. 3.

The organization said the family festival then ushered in another 1,300 visitors on Nov. 4. The first adoptions in the new building also took place. Sixteen pets went home, including three dogs and 13 cats.

According to the society, the pet who took the honor of first adoption was a cat named Fleetwood, whose siblings Stevie Nicks and Buckingham also went home, leaving just Lindsey still available for adoption.
