Hinsdale Incumbents Seek Re-Election In April

Hinsdale saw no competition in the last two village elections.

HINSDALE, IL – Hinsdale trustees Neale Byrnes, Michelle Fisher and Matthew Posthuma are running again in the April 1 election.

Tuesday was the first day of the candidate filing period, which ends next Monday.

The Village Board is made up of six trustees. The three trustees' terms are expiring with the election.

The village president's position is also on the ballot. No one had submitted their names as of late Tuesday afternoon.

Greg Hart, a former Republican member of the DuPage County Board, has announced his candidacy. And Trustee Luke Stifflear has said he is considering running.

In a September interview, Village President Tom Cauley, who is in his fourth term, said he hadn't decided on re-election, saying, "I've got some serious personal matters I'm dealing with."

In 2021, Cauley ran unopposed for re-election. Four years before that, he edged out Laura LaPlaca with 52 percent of the vote.

Hinsdale has seen no competition in the last two elections.

As of late Monday afternoon, Jayesh Hines-Shah, Carissa Kapcar, Kimberly J. Kiyosaki and Chun Ye are running for the Hinsdale Public Library board.
