Hinsdale Kitchen Fire Causes $100,000 In Damages
Fire damage was contained to the kitchen with the smoke damage extending to the remainder of the home.

HINSDALE, IL – A kitchen fire was reported in Hinsdale on Monday morning. At 7:13 a.m. Monday, DuComm received a 911 call from an 11-year-old resident in the 400 block of Old Surrey Road. The 11-year-old was home with her mother at the time of the fire, and reported the kitchen fire to officials.
The fire department said it arrived on scene and all residents were out of the home. Firefighters initiated a rapid fire attack and quickly extinguished the small fire. Fire damage was contained to the kitchen with the smoke damage extending to the remainder of the home, according to the department.
The fire department said no other homes were damaged as a result of the fire. Estimated damages are approximately $100,000. According to the department, the cause of the fire is still under investigation but appears to be accidental in nature.
