Hinsdale Man Charged With Heroin Possession: Cops
In another case, a local resident was the victim of a concert ticket scam, police said.
HINSDALE, IL — Last week, Hinsdale police handled cases involving heroin possession, DUIs, a concert ticket scam, check fraud and identity theft. Here is information from the latest Hinsdale police reports:
Heroin possession
- James M. Meyer, 36, of Hinsdale, was arrested at 4 a.m. Thursday at Walnut and Elm streets on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. He also had an arrest warrant in Cook County. He possessed a substance that field-tested for heroin. He was taken to the DuPage County Jail.
DUI

- Monique Gutierrez, 39, of Plainfield, was arrested about 12:30 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of East Hickory Street on charges of DUI, operating a motor vehicle while using a phone and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident. According to a police report, Gutierrez crashed into a parked car. She possessed a suspected controlled substance in pill form, which was stored in a plastic bag. She submitted to testing that indicated she was over the legal limit. She was released and given a date to appear in court. Additional charges are pending the results of a lab report on the pills.
- Christopher Hess, 27, of Palatine, was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Sunday at 55th Street and Taft Road on charges of DUI and speeding. He refused testing to indicate his blood-alcohol content. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
Concert ticket scam
- A resident in the 5700 block of Sutton Place sent a suspect $300 through an online banking application on Dec. 14 to buy concert tickets that the suspect advertised for sale on a social media account. The resident did not receive the tickets. The suspect did not respond to inquiries. The case is pending.

- A resident in the 100 block of South Stough Street mailed several checks between Nov. 28 and Nov. 29 and discovered someone altered the payee and the dollar amounts on six of them. She reported the issue to police Wednesday.
Identity theft
- A resident in the 800 block of South Garfield Avenue told police Thursday about a fraudulent charge on her credit card.
Driving violations
- Dennis L. Roach, 35, of Downers Grove, was cited shortly before noon Thursday in the 500 block of East 55th Street on charges of driving with a revoked license and speeding more than 35 mph above the limit. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
- Wilfredrick Carr, 35, of Chicago, was cited about 1 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of East Ogden Avenue on charges of no valid driver's license and stopping, parking or standing on a roadway. He was blocking a travel lane. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
