Hinsdale Man Flees From Cops, Then Lies About It: Police
In another case, a Hinsdale man was charged with trespassing at a local restaurant, authorities said.

HINSDALE, IL – In the last few days, Hinsdale police handled cases involving aggravated fleeing, trespassing, a false crash report, a theft at the library and damage to a car. Here is information from the latest Hinsdale police reports:
Aggravated fleeing
- Nicholas M. Abraham, 30, of 715 Justina St. in Hinsdale, was arrested about 2:30 a.m. May 7 on charges of felony aggravated fleeing and eluding, driving with a revoked license, driving on the wrong side of the road, running a stop sign (four counts), not having a valid registration and driving an uninsured car. An officer tried to stop Abraham in the 800 block of North Elm Street, but he fled from the officer on an electric motorized dirt bike. He was found on foot on the street near his house, prompting him to run away. He was arrested in the 800 block of Phillippa Street. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

- A Hinsdale man who lives in the 600 block of The Lane was arrested about 9 a.m. Wednesday on a charge of trespassing. McDonald's, 935 N. York Road, called the police, saying the man refused to leave. He had already been given a no-trespass notice for McDonald's. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
False crash report
- A 38-year-old Justice man was arrested about 2 a.m. May 7 at Grant and 55th streets on charges of driving with a revoked license, failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failing to report an accident to police, submitting a false motor vehicle accident report and driving an uninsured car. The man crashed his motorcycle and then left it behind. Police found the man, who gave a statement that did not match nearby surveillance video. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
Library theft

- A woman at Hinsdale Public Library, 20 E. Maple St., told police that someone stole her change purse from her purse about 6 p.m. Thursday. She had briefly left her purse unattended hanging on a chair.
Car damage
- Someone scratched a car between noon and 2:30 p.m. May 4 while it was parked in the street in the 200 block of Mills Street. The damage was reported a week later.
