Hinsdale Man Steals Electric Scooter Near Restaurant: Cops

In another case, a new Porsche was stolen from a car dealership, police said.

HINSDALE, IL – In the last few days, Hinsdale police have handled cases involving theft, property damage, a stolen car and false identification. Here is information from the latest Hinsdale police reports:

Theft

  • A 38-year-old Hinsdale man who lives in the 400 block of South Lincoln Street was arrested Thursday on charges of theft and criminal property damage. Police said he was seen on surveillance video stealing an unattended electric scooter on a sidewalk while the victim entered Einstein Bros. Bagels, 54 S. Washington St. Police found the scooter along the man's house. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

  • A 2024 Porsche Macan was stolen about 11 p.m. May 13 at the Land Rover Hinsdale dealership, 336 E. Ogden Ave. The case is pending.

False ID

  • A 20-year-old Hinsdale man who lives in the 700 block of West Maple Avenue was arrested about 3:30 a.m. Friday on charges of possessing a fictitious identification, improperly using lanes and speeding. Police said he submitted to testing that indicated alcohol was in his system. He was released and given a date to appear in court.

  • Police found a person asleep behind the wheel about 2 p.m. Thursday at Shell gas station, 210 E. Ogden Ave. The person had plastic baggies that contained a white powdery residue. The person submitted to a blood draw and was released. Charges are pending lab results.
