Hinsdale Mom Alleges Bullying At Central, Says School Fails To Address It
A student-run social media account's videos document the misconduct, she said.

HINSDALE, IL – A Hinsdale resident alleged Thursday that Hinsdale Central High School's administrators have failed to address bullying for the last three years.
At Hinsdale High School District 86's board meeting, parent Susan Sprovieri said the district's policies protect bullies and encourage them to continue.
That's because the school lacks meaningful, punitive measures and mental health interventions, she said.

"The climate and culture at Hinsdale Central have not changed since April 2023," she said.
That month, Sprovieri said the school received an email from a student about the ongoing abuse of a classmate, which could be seen in multiple videos on a student-run private social media account.

Sprovieri identified the victim as her autistic son, who she said was the recipient of 17 founded attacks in spring 2023.
She promised to share material posted on the social media account in question, which she said objectifies female students and displays students' "unbecoming conduct" that violates school policies.
The campus, she said, continues to remain "unsafe for students who are targets of social media accounts, cyberbullying, as well as traditional bullying."
She listed administrators whom she said have known about the bullying over the last three years. She also said the 2023 school board was in the loop.
Sprovieri urged the board to enact better policies to stop bullying.
The board did not reply to Sprovieri's comments. Its policy prohibits immediate responses during meetings.
