The police department joined with other state and local law enforcement and highway safety partners in the St. Patrick's Day crackdown.

HINSDALE, IL – The Hinsdale Police Department announced it made one arrest for driving while license suspended, issued nine citations for failure to wear a seatbelt, issued six citations for unlawful use of an electronic device while driving, issued 11 citations for speeding and four citations for other violations to the Illinois Vehicle Code.
Police said one motorist was arrested for an active arrest warrant out of California. The warrant was for grand theft.
“Because of the efforts of our community leaders to spread the word about drunk driving, the streets were a little safer during the St. Patrick’s Day holiday,” Deputy Chief Erik Bernholdt said in a release. “Keeping drunk drivers off the roads saves lives.”
