Hinsdale Police Chase Results In Arrest: Report

An officer tries to stop a man for speeding, but he speeds away, police say.

HINSDALE, IL — A Naperville man led police on a chase after an officer tried to stop him for speeding last week, according to a Hinsdale police report. The officer attempted the stop near Ogden Avenue and Washington Street about 3:30 a.m. April 20. But the man sped away and continued onto Interstate 294. He drove off the road at I-294 and Interstate 55 and ran away.

The man, identified as Samuel B. Jackson, 38, was found and determined to be under the influence of alcohol, according to the report. Jackson, who refused blood-alcohol testing, was taken to the DuPage County Jail, police said.

Jackson was charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding an officer, aggravated driving with a revoked license, DUI, aggravated speeding in a construction zone and improper lane use.

  • Charges are pending against a woman found slumped behind the wheel about 5:30 p.m. April 21 at Ninth and Thurlow streets. She was believed to be under the influence of drugs and had trouble responding to officers. She was taken to the hospital in Hinsdale, and she submitted blood and urine samples.
  • Leonides N. Aldama, 35, of Chicago, was arrested shortly after midnight April 22 at 55th Street and Garfield Avenue on charges of DUI, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Keeley J. Ogston, 22, of Duluth, Minn., was arrested about 2 a.m. April 24 in the 200 block of East Ogden Avenue on charges of criminal trespassing of a vehicle, no valid driver's license and operating an uninsured vehicle. She was stopped after a registration inquiry listed the vehicle she was driving as stolen. She said the car belonged to her ex-boyfriend and that she was buying it from him. She was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Efren L. Carreno, 20, of Cicero, was arrested about 9:30 p.m. April 26 at 55th and Quincy streets on charges of driving with a suspended license, unlawful possession of marijuana by a driver and improper lighting. The suspect was released and given a date to appear in court.
  • Jonathan Melgoza Valadez, 21, of Chicago, was arrested about 4:30 a.m. April 28 in the 500 block of West 55th Street on charges of driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured vehicle and improper lane usage. He was released and given a date to appear in court.
