Hinsdale Police Make Arrest For False Police Report After Investigating Alleged Robbery

Hinsdale Police arrested a man for filing a false police report after information determined his robbery report was unfounded.

HINSDALE, IL- Hinsdale Police have arrested Vadim Mikhalevich, 23, for felony disorderly conduct for filing a false police report.

On March 14, Hinsdale Police received a report of a robbery that had occurred March 13 near 55th and Madison streets.

Police said that Mikhalevich reported being robbed by two suspects while walking eastbound from the intersection of 55th and Madison.

Hinsdale Police detectives were able to determine the report was unfounded after additional information was discovered.

A false police report of a non-existent crime is a Class 4 felony punishable by up to three years in prison and a $25,000 fine. Police said that Mikhalevich has been transported to the DuPage County Jail for a bond hearing.
