Hinsdale Police Launch End of Summer Special Enforcement
A statewide enforcement effort targeting drunken and unbuckled drivers will run through Sept. 7.

The Hinsdale Police Department will participate in an end-of-summer and Labor Day crackdown on drunken and drugged drivers and seat belt law violators, running through Sept. 7.
Zero tolerance will be shown for drunk driving, and seat belt law violators will receive a ticket without exception, according to Hinsdale police.
Hinsdale drivers should expect to see more patrol vehicles, roadside safety checks and increased messaging about drunken and drugged driving.

The high-visibility crackdown is part of the national Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over and Click It or Ticket efforts, in partnership with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Illinois Department of Transportation.
The law enforcement crackdown is funded by federal traffic safety funds through the Illinois Department of Transportation, according to Hinsdale police.
