HINSDALE, IL – The Hinsdale Police Department made two impaired driving arrests and issued seven seat belt citations during the recent Halloween enforcement effort. The department said officers also issued four citations for speeding, three citations for unlawful use of a cell phone while driving, one citation for operating an uninsured motor vehicle and five citations for other violations to the Illinois Vehicle Code.
According to the department, officers also issued ten warning citations to motorists for violations to the Illinois Vehicle Code. Law enforcement agencies throughout Illinois participated in this effort to save lives by getting impaired drivers off the roads and more people buckled up during Halloween.
The enforcement crackdown took place from Friday, Oct. 27, through the early morning hours of Tuesday, Nov. 1. The department said extra emphasis was placed on enforcement during late night hours, when statistics show the most unbuckled and impaired driving fatalities occur.
