Hinsdale Police Reports: Burglary, Theft, DUI, Property Damage
Hinsdale Police Department reported crimes through June 2.

Someone made four unauthorized transactions to a victim’s Republic Bank account between April 28 and May 11, according to Hinsdale police. A transfer of $12,700 was made out of the victim’s account.
Someone used a victim’s information to open three credit cards between Feb. 4 and May 28, according to Hinsdale police. One of the credit cards had a balance of $14,003.

A woman reported her parked car was scratched May 26 at 5500 South Grant, according to Hinsdale police. The scratch was from the driver’s side quarter panel to the back driver’s side door.
Someone stole a roll of roofing material May 29 from a house under construction in the 200 block of Fuller Road, according to Hinsdale police. The material was valued at $100.

Someone reported juveniles damaged her fence with a golf club May 28 in the 600 block of West Maple Street, according to Hinsdale police.
Jerica M Jenke, age 26 of the 12200 block of South Ridgeway, Alsip, was stopped for speeding and improper lane use May 31 at 55th Street and Tennessee Avenue, according to Hinsdale police. Jenke was observed to be under the influence of alcohol, and she submitted to testing that showed she was over the legal limit. She was charged with drunken driving and released to appear in court, police reported.
Someone used a victim’s identity May 28 to file a fraudulent tax return, according to Hinsdale police.
Someone used a victim’s account information between May 16 and June 1 to make an electronic check purchase totaling $500.42, according to Hinsdale police. The victim was notified that there was a second attempt to pass a fraudulent check.
Someone broke a lock on a parked semi between May 29 and June 1 and stole copper pipe in the 10 block of Salt Creek Lane, according to Hinsdale police. The pipe was worth about $3,000. The person entered a construction site and stole copper joints, police reported.
A Hinsdale Middle School student reported his bicycle went missing June 1 from the bike rack where it was locked, according to Hinsdale police. The bike is valued at $400.
A man reported his bicycle was missing from a bike rack May 28 at Hinsdale Avenue and Washington Street, according to Hinsdale police. The front tire and the lock were still at the rack, and the frame and rear tire were missing. The bike is valued at $500.
