Hinsdale Police Reports: DUI, Property Damage, Underage Drinking

Hinsdale Police Department reported crimes through July 14.

Someone bought four cell phones and opened four lines between Jan. 1 and March 1 using a victim’s information, according to Hinsdale police. The victim was alerted to the identity theft when she received a notice from AT&T for an unpaid amount of $3,923.22.

A customer was sent a car to test drive for a few days to see if he wanted to buy it, but the customer refused to return the car between Dec. 15 and July 7, according to Hinsdale police. The car is valued at $60,000.

A family member reported bruising July 6 on her elderly mother who is a resident of Eve Assisted Living, according to Hinsdale police.

Four tires mounted on rims were reported missing July 9 from a garage in the 900 block of South Bruner Street, according to Hinsdale police. The owner had movers at his house who said they mistakenly left the garage door open during the time the rims went missing.

A wallet was reported missing from a purse that was left in an unlocked car July 9 parked in the 900 block of Taft Road, according to Hinsdale police. The wallet contained a driver’s license, credit cards, $50 to $60 cash and a gift card.

Luis G Alvisurez, age 21 of the 600 block of West Alexander Boulevard, was arrested July 10 at Madison and Hickory for disobeying a stop sign and drunken driving, according to Hinsdale police. He was charged and released to appear in court.

A locked bike was reportedly stolen July 9 from the West Hinsdale Train Depot, according to Hinsdale police. The bike was valued at $102.58.

Hinsdale Central maintenance staff reported a brush fire July 10 on the freshmen baseball field, according to Hinsdale police. The staff extinguished the fire and saw two male white teenagers moving the brush around before the fire started. No damage was reported.

A cab driver reported someone damaged a window of his cab July 9 in the 200 block of North Clay Street, according to Hinsdale police. The suspect took the cab from Chicago to Hinsdale and threw a beer bottle at the cab after he paid the fare and left the car. The estimated damage is $300.

A 17-year-old boy of Hinsdale was arrested July 11 for illegal consumption of alcohol by a person under 21, according to Hinsdale police. A police officer investigating a suspicious incident report found two teenagers hiding in shrubs along a house after a party had let out, police reported. The 17-year-old was seen to be under the influence of alcohol, and he was taken to Hinsdale Hospital for evaluation and referred to a peer jury.

Someone used a victim’s information to try to open a credit card June 23, according to Hinsdale police. The victim reported no money was lost.
