Hinsdale Police Reports: Jewelry Theft, Property Damage, DUI
Hinsdale Police Department reported crimes through June 23.

A Comcast employee reported someone stole three Marine type batteries from a control box on June 10 at 57th Street and County Line Road, according to Hinsdale police. The batteries are valued at $450.
A patient at ManorCare reported her check book went missing between June 12 and 13 from her nightstand drawer in her room, according to Hinsdale police. She canceled the account, and there had been no unauthorized checks presented.

Someone opened a Comcast account June 11 using a victim’s information, according to Hinsdale police. The victim received a collection notice in the amount of $330.34.
A woman reported three people entered her home through an unlocked back door on June 3 in the 300 block of North Lincoln Street, according to Hinsdale police. The people are described as a white man, about 40 years old and two white women, 30-40 years old, in clothes similar to cleaning workers. The suspects left the house when a resident confronted them, and nothing was reported missing.

Donna M Bailey, age 35 of the 700 block of John Street, Joliet, was stopped June 20 for improper lane use and arrested for DUI at 55th Street and Route 83, according to Hinsdale police.
Someone stole a wooden Village of Hinsdale sign June 21 at 55th Street and Taft Road, according to Hinsdale police. The sign is valued at $200.
Someone damaged flower pots, outdoor ground light fixtures and outdoor garage lights June 20 in the 200 and 300 block of East 4th Street and the 300 block of South Garfield, according to Hinsdale police. The cost to repair is estimated at $2,470.
Someone changed the address and password of a victim’s bank account and tried to open a credit card June 22, according to Hinsdale police.
Someone threw eggs and paper towels on the bathroom floor, walls and stalls at Brook Park on June 22, according to Hinsdale police.
A woman reported about $4,000 to $5,000 worth of jewelry went missing between May 23 and June 16 from her bedroom jewelry armoire in the 100 block of South Elm Street, according to Hinsdale police. The woman had workers at her house during the time of the theft.
